Mrs. Shoe Pilot has been driving her Honda Accord wagon for the past couple weeks while the science car (Volt) was in the body shop (hit by unlicensed teen driver). They finished up the Volt today and on my wife's drive home, the speedo went to zero and the CEL came on.
I used the problem as an excuse to go buy a code scanner. I've borrowed them several times but decided to man up and go buy my own tonight.
Diagnosis - vehicle speed sensor has died. Part ordered from amazon ($8 + $5 ship) and I THINK I can see it without taking everything apart. Obviously, there will be much disassembly once the part arrives.
